Chambers of clear glass containing neon and xenon gases is what gives a plasma TV its clear, sharp picture. The vacuum tubes of the old CRT TV are a thing of the past. Using electricity to charge the neon and xenon gases, the gases turn into plasma. The plasma passes the electrical charges on to the phosphors which produces red, green and blue pixels as a result of the chain reaction. Because there are thousands of chambers layered between two sheets of clear glass, the pixels are able to produce a full color picture.
