Fashion can change one way or the other with every season. What was ‘cool’ or best today may not be as cool to wear tomorrow. But one material that’s timeless is plaid. Not just can it stand its own in the fashion world but it is also a wonderful material to keep you warm when working in the components of nature. Nothing yells out ‘hard working man’ quite like men’s plaid jackets with their power to be durable and perfect for holding in the warmth.

Wearing designer clothing was not an issue in our household when I was growing up, but then with five children, my parents almost certainly did not have sufficient money to encourage us to think of wearing designer clothing. That has stayed with me and I do not think of wearing designer clothing even now that I can pay for them.

It is absolutely fine being a ‘jeans and t-shirt’ guy or a ’shirt and tie’ guy or somewhere in-between. What matters is what style you’re feeling most comfy in and thus allows you to ooze confidence in your outfit each time you leave the house. By following the men’s fashion basics article series and messing with different items every week, you need to naturally now know your private casual style. Why not wear a cardigan over your t-shirts? Maybe in the summertime evenings keep the cardigan neutral and have a gaudy Tee to thru a bit of life into your standard attire. Or if you want to look a bit smarter, perhaps for an evening out or date, try throwing on a polo shirt with your jeans and blazer as well for a more formal look.
